Our 4-year-old boy

Mason turned four this month. He requested a "Lightening McQueen" cake, so I gave it a whirl. Luckily, kids have great imaginations so he thought the cake was awesome.
Waiting for presents.

Spiderman cake at Papa and Nana's house! The day after his birthday, he and Desi went to spend a weekend at their grandparents house. It was fun-filled and complete with a Spiderman birthday party.
Attaching his new water bottle to his big-boy bike.
Checking out the new weed eater.
Enjoying a train ride with Papa.
Dig, dig, digging in Nana's garden.

We're so thankful for our sweet boy. He's very helpful to Desi and is quick to tell her how to do things. He's fascinated by how things work (trash trucks, electrical plants, tools and more). He's very meticulous and has a place for everything. Though a cautious adventurer, he's getting braver and braver -- riding four-wheelers and pushing the mower with dad. He loves doing "school" and especially loves scissor activities. His blossoming spirit of negotiation has kept us on our toes and our knees praying for wisdom. I'm  so glad he wants to be independent, but he just doesn't realize he's not quite old enough to run the show.

We love our boy and are thankful for what a wonderful son God's given us.
