Coffee Table Collision

Well, tonight was our first visit to the E.R. Mason slipped, while running to the couch to put the pillows away. He collided with the coffee table and he got a pretty bad laceration on his ear.

The doctors and nurses at Methodist were wonderful. We couldn't be more thankful for the care he/we received. Here's a picture of Mason holding the Batman doll they gave him. A Child Life employee came in and Mason got to "fix up" Batman, just like the doctor was going to fix is ear. He got to watch a movie and they even had an iPad for him to look at while he was being stitched up.

Mason was a trooper. The staff couldn't believe how well he did. We're were thankful that the topic anesthetic worked and he didn't have to be sedated.

AND God blessed us with a short wait. There was only one other person in the ER when we arrived. However, it was hopping by the time we left.

So, now we have five days of convincing Mason not to touch his stitches before they get removed. He's excited to go back to the hospital to get them out. The highlight of the trip was seeing where the ambulances parked. Thank God for little boys!
